The Massachusetts FRESH (Farming Reinforces Education and Student Health) Grant is a statewide farm to school and early education grant program. Administered by the Mass. Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), MA FRESH is open to schools and districts serving students K-12th grade operating the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), as well as licensed early education programs sponsoring the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
Grant at a Glance
Project activities may include:
- Growing or procuring local ingredients
- Educating students, staff, teachers and nutrition professionals about the food system
- Planning farm field trips or hosting a farmer presentation in your classroom
- Connecting food system education to the local community and to the availability of local foods served in school or early education meal programs
Projects may be funded through June 30, 2025 with awards of up to $30,000
